Ellen and Portia Voted #11 on Zimbio's 100 Hottest Celebrity Couples
Ellen and Portia have been voted number 11 on a 'Hottest Couple' countdown by Zimbio - an interactive online magazine. The site named Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt numer 1. Ellen and Portia beat the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron and Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick.

Maxim has the "Hot 100." People has its "Most Beautiful People." But aside from sitting around a conference table arguing about celebs in bikinis, how do you actually decide who's the hottest? At Zimbio, we've found a foolproof, scientific method for rating a couple's hotness, based on four categories: Success, Attractiveness, Popularity and Staying Power.
For the first three, we've ranked each partner in a couple on a scale from one to 10, then added the two scores to come up with a final number (one to 20) in each category. We ranked Staying Power separately on a scale from one to 20 for each couple. The total of the scores in the four categories determined each couple's rank on our list. Numbers don't lie, folks.
Hot Couple #11: Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi
Success. In 2007, Forbes ranked Ellen #17 on their list of the Richest 20 Women in Entertainment, where they reported that she was worth $65 million, thanks to her talk show. No word on how much Portia receives for her television roles like Arrested Development and Nip/Tuck, but it's likely in the six figure range.
Attractiveness. Portia's long locks and slender frame have helped her reach "vixen" status in the eyes of most people. Ellen has a much more masculine look going on, but she's cute for her age (51) and has a style all her own. Also, she was recently hired by CoverGirl for a new campaign.
Popularity. Last month, about 1.2 million people searched Google for Ellen, and 135,000 searched for Portia -- enough to push them into the top third of our most popular couples.
Staying Power. These two just tied the knot last year, but they've been a couple since 2004. Ellen's had one high-profile relationship in the past with actress Anne Heche, but Portia's been linked only to non A-listers (she was previously married to a male documentary filmmaker). For the present, they seem content to be out of the tabloid pages and committed to each other.
Compatibility. These two are both Aquarius, so they get along great. The problem? No sexual chemistry and no deep feelings. As a result, this will probably be the most successful relationship on our whole list.

Portia de Rossi Voted #1 on AfterEllen.com's Hot 100
AfterEllen.com have released the results of their annual Hot 100 campaign, with Portia being voted number 1!
1. Portia de Rossi (No.39 in 2008)
What do you get for the woman who has everything? How about the crowning achievement of being No. 1 on the AfterEllen.com Hot 100 list? Admittedly, things have already been going well for the Australian-born out actress, what with getting married to Ellen DeGeneres, starring in a new series (Better Off Ted) and signing on for the long-awaited Arrested Development movie. And its been a pleasure for all of her long-term queer fans to watch her embrace her status as a high-profile out performer.
While her gay marriage PSA on Jimmy Kimmell Live! was funny, her charming debut appearance on her wife's wildly popular talk show perhaps did more for gay visibility and gay rights than anything overtly "political" might have accomplished. Watching the obviously devoted DeGeneres playfully interview her wife, and even win a round of The Newlywed Game with her against a heterosexual couple, spoke quiet volumes about love, commitment, and true equality. Talent, smarts, looks and being out is clearly a winning combination. Click here to view the full AfterEllen.com Hot 100, and congratulations to Portia.

Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi - GLAAD To Be In Love
With Emmys galore already to her name, Ellen DeGeneres can now add another trophy to her shelf – this one relevant to her personal life.
"Love comes in lots of different forms," said DeGeneres, 51, with her wife, Portia de Rossi, 36, standing beside her as the crowd cheered at Saturday's 20th annual GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. "I am flabbergasted by the fact that we're still trying to fight," she added. "I am not trying to fight for gay rights – I am trying to fight for equal rights."
The TV host's award from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation League, at the Nokia Theater, was for the 2008 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show on which Ellen discussed her wedding day. Speaking onstage, DeGeneres said, "Portia, I love you."

Better Off Ted: Why Aren't More Of You Watching?
by Jeremy Medina for Entertainment Weekly.com
I'm starting to worry my liking of any new show is automatically its kiss of death (look no further than Kings and Pushing Daisies). The most recent example? Better Off Ted. Even though last night's new episode increased its total viewership from last week, I'm not sure if its 4.7 million viewers (and counting!) are enough to save it from the graveyard. It's such a shame, too, since the workplace-set comedy is the most promising new sitcom I've seen in ages. (Luckily, I'm not alone -- Ken Tucker agrees with me, too.)
There's plenty to like about Better Off Ted, and I can assure you it is much, much better than its eye-rolling title. For one thing, the (small) cast is uniformly strong. Jay Harrington, who you may recall from Desperate Housewives and Private Practice, exudes a cool, easy charm that brings to mind both Jon Hamm and George Clooney. Portia de Rossi is deliciously droll as Ted's self-absorbed, no-nonsense boss. Admittedly, she's doing a more socially awkward variation of her character on Arrested Development, but you won't catch me complaining. She's fantastic. And the supporting cast -- Andrea Anders (Linda), Malcolm Barrett (Lem) and Jonathan Slavin (Phil) -- completely sell the increasingly ludicrous story lines, like last night's episode when Lem and Phil accidentally drugged Linda with an energy-enhancing band-aid. Stuff like that happens all the time at Veridion Dynamics, the multi-million dollar corporation they all work for. Already we've seen someone get frozen (poor Phil!), pumpkins developed as weapons, and beef made out of thin air. The best part? Each episode contains a faux-advertisment for Veridion Dynamics. They're consistently hilarious.
I like Better Off Ted and it's cutesy reality-meets-fantasy tone. I just hope it's around long enough to develop an audience, which might not be in the cards since ABC has been a little cancel-happy these days. (Need I mention Pushing Daisies again?) Have you been tuning in, PopWatchers? If not, how come? Too many other shows flooding your DVR's? Click here for the article, and to leave your response.
